Thank You 2016!

What an incredible year 2016 was! We left our irreplaceable clients on the East Coast, and traveled across the country to start anew. While it’s been a lesson in temperance, I am over the moon about living here in the Portland area, and have really enjoyed building new relationships with my clients. The compilation slideshow below, puts all my favorites together from the last year. There is lots of love here. It’s a beautiful life!

Quinceañera ~ She’s Fifteen!

It’s almost midnight, and I’ve been editing for hours. I have been wanting to complete this session, for my client, but also because I had gotten a glimpse of the raw files, and couldn’t wait to perfect them. What a doll she was! We had three photo sessions scheduled as part of her Quinceanera. Two independent of the actual event, where we really go to just have fun. Not only did this sweet girl conduct herself with class and style, but she was a knockout! We had a wonderful time bringing all these moments to life, and recording this transition…

Sweet Baby Girl

This little peanut was so sweet, she just wanted to watch everything that was going on! She worked me only a little bit, and we finally did manage to get a few shots of her relaxed and sleeping. She was just in awe of everything around her and kept me on my toes. I do love my sleeping baby portraits, but the rare opportunity to photograph tiny newborns who are looking at me, is pretty special too. What a gentle little one she was, and her wonderful parents were calm, cool, and collected every time she complained (and I have…

Tiny Twin Boys

Oh, what fun we had on this session! I don’t know what’s going on lately, but I’ve had the most mellow babies! These two take the cake, I mean they were just so sweet. I can’t help the smile on my face, while editing. I loved cuddling these two, and you can see for yourself how great they both were. #1 came out first, and was quite a bit pudgier and more opinionated than #2, who just wanted to sleep, poor baby. #1 was full of smiles toward the middle of the session and even opened his eyes a few…

Rainy (?) Day Maternity Portraits

It’s not that I don’t love it when the weather doesn’t cooperate, it’s that most of my clients aren’t keen on doing their session in the rain or snow. Granted, if there is an arc inspiring deluge of water coming from the sky, I am not prepared to put my camera at risk, but if there is simply a drizzle threat, I am game! This session theoretically happened on a rainy day. You see, ‘they’ said rain. I took lengths to prepare, including asking my client if she was up for a fun session in the rain. When she actually…

Little Moon

I’ve had such great mellow babies lately, I’m getting spoiled! She was a total breeze. My goal every session is to get mom, dad, and baby out of here as fast as possible, so they can get on with their day, and back to the calm, quiet of their home. That’s not to say we don’t take our time, in fact we take as long as it takes, with several stops along the way and plenty of time for cuddling, diapering, and snacking 😉 I’ve discovered in my seven years of photographing newborns, that less is actually more. The more…
